Purchase prices of the means of agricultural production grew by 1.5 per cent in the first quarter 2026
releaseAccording to Statistics Finland, the index of purchase prices of the means of agricultural production rose by 1.5 per cent in the first quarter 2026 year-on-year. Goods and services currently consumed in agriculture cost 1.1 per cent more and agricultural investments cost 2.3 per cent more compared to the previous year.

- Purchase prices of the means of agricultural production rose by 1.5 per cent in the first quarter 2026 year-on-year. In January, February and March, the year-on-year changes in the index were 0.2 per cent, 0.8 per cent and 3.6 percent.
- The increase in the index of purchase prices of the means of agricultural production in the first quarter 2026 was mainly influenced by higher prices of energy and lubricants, as well as fertilisers and soil improvers.
- Energy and lubricants were 6.9 per cent more expensive and fertilisers and soil improvers were 4.0 per cent more expensive in the first quarter 2026 year-on-year.
- The increase in the index of purchase prices of the means of agricultural production was curbed especially by 7.6 per cent decrease in animal feedingstuffs prices in the first quarter 2026 year-on-year.
