Purchase prices of the means of agricultural production grew by 6.8 per cent in the second quarter of 2026 year-on-year
releaseAccording to Statistics Finland, the index of purchase prices of the means of agricultural production rose by 6.8 per cent in the second quarter of 2026 year-on-year. Goods and services currently consumed in agriculture cost 9.0 per cent more, while agricultural investments cost 2.8 per cent more compared to the previous year. Compared to the previous quarter, index rose by 4.1 per cent.

- The increase in the index of purchase prices of the means of agricultural production was mainly influenced by 36.5 per cent higher prices of energy and lubricants as well as 10.6 per cent higher prices of fertilisers and soil improvers in the second quarter 2026 compared with a year earlier.
- The increase in the index of purchase prices of the means of agricultural production was curbed especially by 5.8 per cent lower prices of animal feedingstuffs in the second quarter 2026 year-on-year.
- Quarter-on-quarter purchase prices of the means of agricultural production increased by 4.1 per cent in the second quarter of 2026.
