Nights spent by foreign tourists in Finland grew by 7 per cent from the previous year in November 2025

According to Statistics Finland's preliminary data, 1.56 million overnight stays were recorded at accommodation establishments in November 2025. The number of nights spent by resident tourists was 1.06 million and that of nights spent by non-resident tourists 0.50 million. The total number of overnight stays increased by one per cent from the year before.

  • The number of overnight stays by resident tourists went down by one per cent from the previous year in November 2025.
  • The number of nights spent by non-resident tourists at accommodation establishments increased by seven per cent from the year before. The highest number of foreign nights were from the United Kingdom, Germany and the United States.
  • The occupancy rate of hotel rooms was 54 per cent and the average price of a hotel room was EUR 131. The average price of a hotel room was highest in Lapland, EUR 228.
  • The average prices of hotel rooms include value added tax, which has been 14 per cent since 1 January 2025. In 2024, the VAT rate for accommodation services was 10 per cent.
