According to Statistics Finland, working day adjusted turnover in service industries grew by 3.1 per cent in February 2026 from February 2025. Service output or volume, from which the impact of prices has been eliminated, grew by 2.0 per cent over the same period. In January 2026, turnover grew of 5.1 per cent and volume correspondingly rose by 4.0 per cent. Services are here examined exclusive of trade.

All main service industries growing

In February 2026, growth in service industries was strongest in administrative and support service activities, where working day adjusted turnover went up by 4.9 per cent and volume by 2.7 per cent from February 2025. Working day adjusted turnover in information and communication grew by 3.8 per cent from February 2025. At the same time, the 3.2 per cent rise in the volume of the industry was fastest among service industries.

Growth in turnover in accommodation and food service activities was on level with the general development in service industries, while growth in other main service industries was more moderate. In February 2026, working day adjusted turnover in accommodation and food service activities grew by 3.1 per cent and volume by 1.7 per cent from February 2025. Working day adjusted turnover in real estate activities rose by 2.7 per cent and volume by 3.0 per cent in February 2026. Working day adjusted turnover in transportation and storage grew by 2.3 per cent and volume by 1.4 per cent from February 2025.

Working day adjusted turnover in professional, scientific and technical activities grew by 2.3 per cent and volume by 0.8 per cent from February 2025. Turnover adjusted for working days in arts, entertainment and recreation grew by 1.1 per cent in February 2026 from one year ago. Working day adjusted turnover in other service activities also increased by 1.1 per cent in February this year.

Turnover and volume falling from the previous month

Seasonally adjusted turnover in service industries declined in February 2026 by 1.1 per cent compared to January. Service output or volume, from which the impact of prices has been eliminated, also fell by 1.0 per cent over the same period. In January 2026, turnover went up by 1.8 per cent and volume by 1.5 per cent from December 2025.
