Turnover in service industries grew by 5.4 per cent in March 2026

All main service industries growing

In March 2026, growth in service industries was strongest in transportation and storage, where working day adjusted turnover went up by 7.4 per cent and volume by 3.2 per cent from March 2025. The growth in the industry was partly affected by the situation in the Middle East, which has grown the costs of transportation companys and directed customers to alternative routes.

Working day adjusted turnover in administrative and support service activities grew by 6.0 per cent and volume by 3.8 per cent from March 2025. Working day adjusted turnover in professional, scientific and technical activities grew by 5.7 per cent in March 2026. At the same time, the 5.6 per cent rise in the volume of the industry was fastest among service industries. The working day adjusted turnover of information and communication activities went up by 5.3 per cent and volume by 3.9 per cent from March 2025.

Working day adjusted turnover in other service activities went up by 3.9 per cent from March 2025. Turnover adjusted for working days in arts, entertainment and recreation grew by 3.2 per cent in March 2026 from one year ago. In March 2026, working day adjusted turnover in accommodation and food service activities grew by 3.1 per cent and volume by 2.0 per cent from March 2025. Working day adjusted turnover in real estate activities rose by 2.0 per cent and volume by 3.0 per cent in March 2026.

Turnover and volume growing from the previous month

Seasonally adjusted turnover in service industries rose by 0.8 per cent in March 2026 compared to February. Service output or volume, from which the impact of prices has been eliminated, went up by 0.3 per cent over the same period. In February 2026, turnover fell by 0.3 per cent and volume by 0.2 per cent from January.
