Turnover in service industries grew by 5.9 per cent in May 2026

All main service industries growing

In May 2026, growth in service industries was strongest in transportation and storage, where working day adjusted turnover went up by 9.8 per cent and volume by 5.0 per cent from May 2025. Over the same period, working day adjusted turnover in professional, scientific and technical activities increased by 5.7 per cent and volume by 3.7 per cent.

In May 2026, the working day adjusted turnover of information and communication went up by 4.8 per cent and volume by 1.7 per cent from May 2025. Working day adjusted turnover in administrative and support service activities grew by 4.2 per cent and volume by 2.5 per cent from May 2025. Turnover adjusted for working days in arts, entertainment and recreation rose by 3.8 per cent in May 2026 from one year ago.

Working day adjusted turnover in real estate activities rose by 3.3 per cent and volume by 3.0 per cent in May 2026. In May 2026, working day adjusted turnover in accommodation and food service activities grew by 3.1 per cent and volume by 2.4 per cent from May 2025. Working day adjusted turnover in other service activities went up by 3.1 per cent from May 2025.

Turnover and volume growing from the previous month

Seasonally adjusted turnover in service industries rose by 0.8 per cent in May 2026 compared to April. Service output or volume, from which the impact of prices has been eliminated, went up by 0.4 per cent over the same period. In April 2026, turnover fell by 0.3 per cent and volume by 0.4 per cent from March.
