Number of degrees completed at universities grew in 2025

According to Statistics Finland, the number of degrees completed at universities grew by eight per cent in 2025. A total of 39,100 degrees were completed. The number of students attending university education leading to a degree was 177,500, of whom 36,300 were new students. The number of students grew by two per cent and that of new students by three per cent compared to the previous year.
