Prices of heating energy rose in June 2026 from one year ago, the biggest rise for light fuel oil
releaseAccording to Statistics Finland, prices of purchased heating energy of detached and demi-detached houses rose for all energy sources in June 2026 compared to the corresponding period in 2025. The price of light fuel oil rose most, being EUR 50 per megawatt hour higher than one year earlier. The prices of electricity and district heat both rose by around EUR one per megawatt hour.

- In June 2026, the price of light fuel oil rose by EUR 50 per megawatt hour from one year ago and was the most expensive of the examined heating energy sources.
- In June 2026, the total price of electricity for household customers went up by 9 to 10 per cent compared to one year earlier. The total price for enterprise and corporate customers rose by 3 to 74 per cent.
- The rise in the total price of electrical energy for household customers was explained by the 11 to 17 per cent growth in the price of electrical energy, the 4 to 8 per cent rise in network service fees and the seven per cent increase in taxes compared to the previous year.
- Among liquid fuels, the consumer price of light fuel oil rose most, by 43 per cent. The price of diesel rose by 32 per cent, that of renewable diesel by 30 per cent and that of petrol by 20 per cent from one year back.
- The price of district heat rose by under one per cent in the second quarter of 2026 compared to the corresponding period in 2025.
