Number of nights spent at accommodation establishments on level with the previous year in July 2026

According to Statistics Finland's preliminary data, 3.25 million overnight stays were recorded at accommodation establishments in July 2026. The number of nights spent by resident tourists was 2.50 million and that of nights spent by non-resident tourists 0.75 million. The total number of overnight stays was on level with the previous year. Part of the data for Åland are missing for the time being.

  • The number of overnight stays by resident tourists went down slightly from the previous year in July 2026.
  • The number of nights spent by non-resident tourists increased by three per cent from the year before. The number of overnight stays was highest among foreign tourists from Sweden, Germany and the United States.
  • The highest number of overnight stays was recorded in Uusimaa, where the total number of overnight stays was 0.88 million. The number went up by seven per cent from the previous year.
  • The second highest number of overnight stays, 0.29 million, was recorded in North Ostrobothnia, where the number of overnight stays went down by three per cent from the year before.
  • The occupancy rate of hotel rooms was 65 per cent and the average price of a hotel room was EUR 117. The average price of a hotel room was highest in South Savo, EUR 179.
