Men's mortality in 2025 was higher than women's in nearly all cause of death groups
reviewAccording to Statistics Finland, men's age-standardised mortality was around 1.5 times higher than women's mortality in 2025. Men's higher mortality than women's was particularly visible in diseases of the circulatory system, but also in other cause of death groups. The difference in mortality was smallest in memory disorders, where there was no clear difference in the mortality of men and women.
