Structural business and financial statement statistics: Changes causing a break in the time series in the structural business statistics starting from the statistical reference year 2021
Date of change:The structural business statistics will be renewed in autumn 2022, which will cause a break in the time series between 2020 and 2021. The stuctural business statistics include The Structural Business and Financial Statement Statistics, the Regional statistics on entrepreneurial activity statistics and the Foreign affiliates in Finland statics.
Starting from the statistical reference year 2021, the data on the number of personnel and wage and salary sum in the statistics have been calculated with a new method using the new Incomes Register data. Due to the renewal, the numbers of personnel and wages and salaries sums are not fully comparable with earlier years. The renewal decreases the number of personnel by around 136 000 persons (9,0 %) and the wages and salaries sum by around EUR 66 million (0,1 %) calculated with data for 2020.
Starting from the statistical reference year 2021, the estimated profit and loss account data of enterprises subject to the Tax Administration’s estimated assessment will be included in the statistics. Previously, these enterprises' profit and loss accounts were not included in
the statistics. The change increases the turnover included in the statistics by
a total of around EUR 700 million calculated with data for 2020.
Starting from the statistical reference year 2021, data on branches abroad concerning the largest units have been removed from the statistics. The change causes a break in the time series for some industries compared to previous years.
New database table were published for the Structural business and financial statement statistics
Table 13vh Revisions in structural business and financial statement statistics lwiill
be published as a new database table. The table have Swedish and English
translations.
