Information about the change
Changes were made to the sampling frame of the goods transport by road survey. These changes have an effect on the statistics beginning from 2025Q1. The purpose of the changes was to lessen the response burden and to decrease over-coverage. All vehicles whose owner or holder is a private person were removed, and the inclusion criteria regarding decommissioning and inspection of a vehicle were tightened. These changes decrease the statistics on the volume of goods transported and transport performance by roughly seven per cent, and vehicle mileage by 11 per cent compared to a situation where the changes had not been made. The effect on annual changes will cease from 2026Q1 onwards.
