Interface use of geographic data

Statistics Finland's open geographic data are available on the WMS and WFS interfaces. Some of the data are also available in a form compliant with the INSPIRE Directive. These data are available both on the WMS interface and on the new type of OGC API Features interface.

Unlike the others, the grid net for statistics 250 m x 250 m is provided as a download link (see data presentations below).

National WMS and WFS data sets

You can use the data sets in the following ways:

A. Apply the data to your own application using the interface addresses.

All the data are available at once at the interface addresses:
- https://geo.stat.fi/geoserver/wfs
- https://geo.stat.fi/geoserver/wms.
Individual data are available at the interface addresses given in the table below.

B. You can download the data with URL queries.

You can define the characteristics of the data to be downloaded in the query, like the file format or the desired area.

C. View the data in the national geographic information portal Paikkatietoikkuna.
