Building cost index
The building cost index describes the price development of construction inputs, materials, wages and salaries, and other inputs relative to the price level of the base year. The price data for the index are collected from manufacturers of building materials, wholesale dealers and specialised shops in the field.
The data collection is based on a yearly updated judicious sample of representative commodities selected for monthly price monitoring. The sample comprises some 260 data suppliers from which over 1,000 price data are collected.
