The Working Life Barometer

The Working Life Barometer examines the quality of working life and working conditions from the viewpoint of wage and salary earners. The themes of the study include organisation of work, working time and remuneration systems, learning at work, discrimination, harassment, bullying and violence at the workplace, work capacity and health, well-being at work, influencing possibilities, and labour market prospects. The barometer has been carried out since 1992. It is one of the most significant studies describing working life in Finland.

Data for the Working Life Barometer are collected from some respondents to Statistics Finland's Labour Force Survey in August to September. Statistics Finland conducts the barometer on assignment of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment.

Part of the employed wage and salary earners who have been invited to Statistics Finland's Labour Force Survey have been selected as respondents. Please respond first to the Labour Force Survey (instructions for responding). If you have been selected for the Working Life Barometer, the questions are asked after the Labour Force Survey questions on a web form or in a telephone interview.
