Finland’s greenhouse gas emissions 2017 to the EU and the UNFCCC
In 2017, Finland's greenhouse gas emissions without the LULUCF sector amounted to 55.4 million tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (mil. t CO2 eq.), being 15.9 million tonnes less than in the comparison year 1990. Emissions from the non-emissions trading sector were below the annual emission allocations set by the EU by 0.1 million tonnes of CO2 equivalent. The data are based on the reporting of emission data for 2017 to the EU and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). Total emissions were revised 0.1 million tonnes of CO2 equivalent downwards compared with the preliminary data published in December 2018.
