The data collection and processing methods for the renovation costs of service buildings were renewed
The data collection and processing methods for the renovation costs of service buildings were renewed. The data for 2013 were collected building specifically and the framework used in the collection was Statistics Finland’s building stock.
For 2016, the renovation costs of service buildings were inquired from owners of service buildings. The framework used was the Tax Administration's real estate data. Educational buildings, health care buildings and institutional buildings were drawn from the real estate data. The buildings were summed up by owner. Those owning most of the buildings mentioned above were selected to the sample, as well as randomly selected smaller owners.
The data collection was made separately for municipalities. The 50 largest municipalities and 50 of the remaining municipalities were selected.
The data collection was renewed from the 2013 inquiry because it was difficult to find respondents who knew about renovations of individual buildings. The data collection was renewed to be similar to data collections concerning renovations to commercial and office buildings and industrial and warehouse buildings.
