Wages and salaries sum grew by 1.5 per cent year-on-year in September to November
According to Statistics Finland, the wages and salaries sum of the whole economy was 1.5 per cent greater in the past September to November period than in the corresponding period twelve months earlier. In November alone, the wages and salaries sum of the whole economy grew by 1.3 per cent year-on-year. In the September to November period one year ago, the wages and salaries sum grew by 2.3 per cent.

The wages and salaries sum grew in the September to November period in all main industries with the exception of manufacturing (-1.8 %) and education services provided by the private sector, where growth came to a halt. The wages and salaries sum grew fastest in private health and social work services (+5.5%).
The wage and salary sum data of the private sector (Classification of Sectors 2012: 11102-3) are added to the wage and salary indices release starting from the data concerning January 2014. Data will be released for the first time on 14 March 2014.
The wages and salaries sum refers to the sum total of the gross wages and salaries paid to employees without incentive stock options. The wages and salaries sum is influenced by changes in employment and in the earnings level of wage and salary earners.
