Transport in domestic waterborne traffic decreased in June

The goods volume in domestic waterborne traffic totalled 0,3 million tonnes in June 2021. Transport in domestic waterborne traffic decreased by 22 per cent compared to June 2020. In June 2021 domestic water transport took place almost only in coastal waterways.

Domestic waterborne traffic by month (tonnes) in 2019 to 2021

Oil products were transported most, in total 152,420 tonnes, which was 49 per cent of all transport. The second most transported was crude minerals and cement, 46,645 tonnes.

Vessel traffic and goods volume in the Saimaa Canal

A total of 9,765 tons of transport were registered through the canal in domestic traffic.
