Turnover in service industries grew by 0.7 per cent year-on-year in June to August

Turnover in service industries grew by 0.7 per cent in June to August from the corresponding time period of the year before. One year previously, turnover in service industries grew by 4.5 per cent. Services are here examined exclusive of trade.

In June to August, turnover developed more weakly than in the corresponding period of the previous year in nearly all main service industries. Compared with the year before, turnover rose faster only in information and communications, which went up by 3.1 per cent from the respective period of the previous year. Growth was fastest in real estate activities, where turnover rose by 4.1 per cent from the corresponding period of the previous year. The development was weakest in transportation and storage enterprises where turnover decreased by 2.2 per cent. Turnover also decreased in administrative and support service activities and in enterprises in the industry of arts, entertainment and recreation compared with the year before.
