Cubic volume covered by granted building permits decreased in September to November year-on-year

According to Statistics Finland, building permits were granted for a total of 9.4 million cubic metres in September to November 2017. The cubic volume of building permits granted was 8.4 per cent lower than in the corresponding period one year previously. The over 12 per cent growth in residential building construction was not enough to turn total construction into growth. Measured by volume, building permits for commercial and office buildings and public service buildings were clearly below the level of one year earlier, which had a considerable effect on total construction.
