Growth rate of building costs slowed down in February

Building costs rose by 0.7 per cent from February 2008 to February 2009. Labour costs in construction went up by 4.5 per cent. Prices of materials went down by 0.5 per cent and those of other inputs went down by 2.3 per cent year-on-year. This is indicated by the building cost index of Statistics Finland.

From January to February the total index of building costs went down by 0.2 per cent. The prices for labour rose by 0.7 procent. The prices of materials went down by 0.6 procent and the prices of those for other inputs by 0.3 per cent.
