Building costs fell by 1.8 per cent in November
Building costs were 1.8 per cent lower in November 2009 than in November 2008. Labour costs in construction rose by 2.2 per cent in the year. By contrast, prices of materials fell by 2.5 per cent and those of other inputs by 7.2 per cent. This is indicated by the Building Cost Index of Statistics Finland.
From October to November, the total index of building costs fell by 0.1 procent. The prices for labour remained unchanged. By contrast the prices of materials fell by 0.1 procent and those of other inputs by 0.6 per cent from October.
