Building costs fell by 0.5 per cent in March

Building costs were 0.5 per cent lower in March 2010 than in March 2009. Labour costs in construction fell by 0.3 per cent and those of other inputs by 2.5 per cent in the year. By contrast, prices of materials rose by 0.1 per cent. This is indicated by the Building Cost Index of Statistics Finland.

From February to March, the total index of building costs rose by 0.2 per cent. The prices for labour and those of other inputs were the same than in February. By contrast, the prices of materials rose by 0.4 per cent from February.
