Building costs rose by 0.6 per cent in May

Building costs were 0.6 per cent higher in May 2010 than in May 2009. Labour costs in construction were the same than in May 2009. Prices of materials rose by 1.7 per cent in the year. Those of other inputs fell by 2.2 per cent. This is indicated by the Building Cost Index of Statistics Finland.

From April to May, the total index of building costs rose by 0.2 per cent. The prices of materials rose by 0.7 per cent. The prices for labour were 0.5 per cent lower than in May and those of other inputs 0.3 per cent lower.
