Building costs rose by 0.1 per cent in June year-on-year
According to Statistics Finland, building costs rose by 0.1 per cent in June 2017 compared with the previous year's June. The prices of materials went up by one per cent and those of services by 0.3 per cent from June 2016. Simultaneously, prices of labour inputs in construction fell by 1.1 per cent. The fall in the prices of labour inputs is explained by lower social security costs compared with 2016.
Long term development of the Building Cost Index
From May to June, the total index of building costs remained on the same level as in the previous month. The prices of materials and services rose by 0.2 per cent from the previous month. The prices of labour inputs fell by 0.2 per cent.
