Base year of the Building Cost Index changes

The base year of the Building Cost Index will change at the beginning of 2016. The weight structures of the new index will be updated to correspond with the structure of costs in the professional construction of new buildings. In addition, the commodity sample will be updated to correspond with new constructional regulations and the coverage of the sample of enterprises is expanded.

The production of indices on own-account construction and renovations will be discontinued in the Building Cost Index. The new index, the total index of residential building construction, will be published, which covers both newbuilding and renovation building.

The more exact date for the implementation of the new base year and the contents will be notified later.
