Data:	Latest release: Index of purchase prices of means of agricultural production rose by 22.4 per cent in January 16 Mar 2022 The year-on-year change in the purchase prices of means of agricultural production calculated by Statistics Finland was 22.4 per cent in January. Agricultural production commodities and services cost 28.7 per cent more and investments eight per cent more than one year ago. Prices of agricultural production inputs have gone up exceptionally much in a short time. Russia's attack on Ukraine also causes additional pressure to increase input prices. Price changes should therefore be monitored more frequently. In future, the database tables of the index of producer price of agricultural products will be updated monthly at a lag of around 45 days from the end of the statistical reference month
Description:	The index of purchase prices of the means of agricultural production measures the price developments in the cost factors of agriculture. The index shows by how much the purchase prices of the means of agricultural production have changed when compared with the index base period. As a rule, the weights of the index are calculated from the agricultural accounts of national accounts. The base year is changed at five-year intervals, when the weight structure is also reviewed.
