International statistics compactly served

Statistics from all countries of the world can now be accessed via Statistics Finland's new International statistics portal.

Data of the most important and reliable international organisations and communities have been gathered into the free portal at http://www.stat.fi/internationalstatistics.

The portal contains nearly 900 tables produced by Eurostat, the Statistical Office of the European Communities, as well as key statistics of international data producers, such as the OECD, IMF and UN. Statistics can be searched from the database by topic or country.

The Finland in comparison section of the portal contains key figures from the Member States of the European Union as PowerPoint slides. Customers were previously charged for this Finland in comparison service but it is now offered free-of-charge to all users. Additionally, the portal gives access to a selection of international database sources.

The setting up of the portal is part of Statistics Finland's programme on the expansion of its free supply of services.
