Producer prices for manufactured products rose by 1.0 per cent in the year
According to Statistics Finland, producer prices for manufactured products went up by 1.0 per cent from this year's November to last year's November. The total point figure of the index was particularly raised by higher prices of oil products. Higher prices of iron, steel and iron alloys, plastic materials, copper and other organic basic chemicals also had a considerable impact on producer prices. The rise of prices was especially curbed by lower prices of electronic and electrical equipment.
Import prices fell by 2.0 per cent from October to November
According to Statistics Finland, import prices fell by 2.0 per cent from October to November. The fall of the total index was particularly caused by higher prices of crude oil.
Export prices decreased by 1.1 per cent in November. The fall was mainly attributable to lower prices of oil products, sawn timber, and pulp, paper and paper products.

Producer price indices measure the development of commodity prices from enterprises' viewpoint. The basic price index for domestic supply measures the development of prices exclusive of tax of goods used in Finland as they enter the market. The wholesale price index describes the change in the purchase prices of goods used in Finland inclusive of tax. Both these indices contain domestic and imported goods.
