Stronger growth in total output in July
Total output grew by 3.9 per cent in the year to July. In June output increased by 2.4 per cent compared to the year before. After adjustment for seasonal variation, output in July was up by 0.5 per cent from June. Output increased in all branches of industry in July. The data are based on Statistics Finland's monthly indicator of total output.Output in agriculture and forestry grew by 3 per cent in July. Output in manufacturing was 5 per cent higher in the year to July as calculated per working day. Output in the construction industry increased by 6.5 per cent and that of trade by over 5.5 per cent. Output in transport and communications was up by 3.5 per cent on the year before and that in other services and government services by 2 per cent.
The monthly indicator of total output is based on eleven monthly series on different sectors of the economy, which are weighted and summed up.
