Total output resumed the growth rate of early summer in August
Total output grew by 2.1 per cent in the year to August. After adjustment for seasonal variation, output in August was up by 0.3 per cent from July. Output increased in all branches of industry in August. The data are based on Statistics Finland's monthly indicator of total output.Output in agriculture and forestry grew by one per cent in the year to August. Output in manufacturing was two per cent higher compared to the year before as calculated per working day. Output in the construction industry also increased by two per cent and that of trade by 1.5 per cent. Output in transport and communications was up by three per cent and that in other services and government services by two per cent compared to the year before.
The monthly indicator of total output is based on eleven monthly series on different sectors of the economy, which are weighted and summed up.
