Further rise in total output in February
Total output was up by 4.6 per cent in the year to February. After adjustment for seasonal variation, output in February was 0.3 per cent higher than in January. In January output rose by 5.7 per cent compared to the previous year. All branches of industry saw an increase in output in February. The data are based on Statistics Finland's monthly indicator of total output.
Output in agriculture and forestry rose by almost 4.5 per cent
in February, whereas in manufacturing output as calculated per
working day was 6.7 per cent higher than the year before. Output in
construction was up by five per cent and that in trade and commerce
by three per cent.
In transport and communications output grew by four per cent on the
year before, while in other services as well as government services
the rise amounted to 2.5 per cent.
The monthly indicator of total output is based on eleven monthly series on different sectors of the economy, which are weighted and summed up.
