Import prices down by 0.3 per cent in June
Import prices dropped by 0.3 per cent from May to June, the reduction being attributable mainly to the fall in the price of crude oil. In the year to June import prices have risen however by 0.2 per cent. This information can be gathered from the Import Price Index of Statistics Finland.
Export prices rose by 0.1 per cent from May to June, but were still 4.1 per cent lower than in June of 1996.
Producer prices for manufactured goods rose by 0.3 per cent from May to June, due to higher prices of raw materials and output commodities, such as basic metals. In the year to June producer prices have risen by 0.2 per cent.
Wholesale prices dropped by 0.2 per cent from
May to June, but in the year to June they have risen by 1.8 per
cent. Wholesale prices of domestic consumer goods fell by 0.7 per
cent from May to June, due mainly to cheaper prices on domestic
vegetables. In the same period wholesale prices on imported
consumer goods rose by 0.2 per cent.
