Import prices down by almost one per cent from August to September
According to Statistics Finland, import prices went down by 0.9 per cent from August to September. The fall was due to lower prices of electricity, oil products, electrical equipment, basic metals and vehicles.
Import prices fell by 5.8 per cent in the year to September. This was due to lower prices of electrical equipment, crude oil, colour metals, oil products, metal ores and chemicals. The prices of oil products fell most, almost 28 per cent, in the year. The prices of colour metals went down by 26 per cent and those of electrical equipment by nearly 9 per cent.
Export prices fell by half a per cent from August to September because of lower prices of timber, oil products, pulp, machinery and equipment, and colour metals.
Export prices went down by two per cent in the year to September, due to lower prices of electrical equipment, oil products, timber, colour metals, pulp, and machinery and equipment.
Producer prices for manufactured goods, or producer prices for goods intended for the domestic market, fell by 0.4 per cent from August to September. This was primarily attributable to lower price of electricity, but also to lower prices of pulp and colour metals.
Producer prices for manufactured goods dropped by 2.4 per cent in the year to September, due to lower prices of oil products, pulp, colour metals, electricity, food and electrical equipment.
Wholesale prices fell by 2.1 per cent in the year to September. The wholesale prices of imported goods went down by 4.7 per cent and those of domestic goods by 0.7 per cent.
