Finland in Figures 2026: ageing Finland is visible in numbers

News

The Finland in Figures 2026 publication collects together the key statistics on Finnish society and highlights one central change: ageing of the population. At the end of 2025, as many as 24 per cent of Finns were aged 65 or over.

Ageing is visible on many levels. More and more people receive pensions, but at the same time, ageing people remain active. Nearly one half of those aged 65 to 74 use social network services and some also utilise generative artificial intelligence.
