Turnover in trade grew by 3.0 per cent in April 2023

Turnover grew strongly in motor vehicle trade

Among the main industries of trade, turnover grew strongest in motor vehicle trade, where working day adjusted turnover grew by 21.1 per cent and sales volume by 15.6 per cent in April from one year back.

Working day adjusted turnover in the trade industry with the biggest turnover, wholesale trade, decreased in April by 2.3 per cent, while sales volume grew by 1.7 per cent year-on-year.

In retail trade, working day adjusted turnover grew by 4.8 per cent in April but the volume of sales decreased by 2.5 per cent. The turnover of daily consumer goods trade increased by 7.4 per cent from one year back, while the volume of sales decreased by 2.6 per cent in the corresponding period. The turnover of department store trade grew by 9.8 per cent, but the volume of sales went down by 0.2 per cent year-on-year. In specialised store trade, turnover fell by 1.4 per cent and the volume of sales by 6.4 per cent.

Seasonally adjusted turnover grew compared to March

Seasonally adjusted turnover in total trade grew by 1.7 per cent in April compared to March. Seasonally adjusted sales volume went up by 2.6 per cent. In March, seasonally adjusted turnover decreased by 0.8 per cent and sales volume did not change compared to the month before.
