Turnover in trade decreased by 2.9 per cent in June 2023

Growth in motor vehicle trade continued in June

Among the main industries of trade, turnover grew strongest in motor vehicle trade, where working day adjusted turnover grew by 11.5 per cent and sales volume by 7.1 per cent in June from one year back.

Working day adjusted turnover in the trade industry with the biggest turnover, wholesale trade, decreased in June by 8.4 per cent, and sales volume by 0.3 per cent year-on-year.

In retail trade, working day adjusted turnover grew by 0.3 per cent in June but the volume of sales decreased by 3.5 per cent. The turnover of daily consumer goods trade increased by 4.7 per cent from one year back, while the volume of sales decreased by 1.6 per cent in the corresponding period. The turnover of department store trade grew by 1.1 per cent, but the volume of sales went down by 5.5 per cent year-on-year. In specialised store trade, turnover declined by 2.4 per cent and the volume of sales by 5.3 per cent.

Seasonally adjusted turnover decreased compared to May

The seasonally adjusted turnover in total trade decreased by 1.6 per cent in June compared to May. Seasonally adjusted sales volume decreased by 1.6 per cent. In May, seasonally adjusted turnover rose by 0.2 per cent and sales volume by 0.7 per cent compared to the month before.
