According to Statistics Finland's preliminary data, prices of old dwellings in housing companies decreased throughout Finland in April. In the whole country prices went down by 6.2 per cent from the previous year. Prices fell by 6.7 per cent in the six largest towns from one year ago. Prices went down by 5.1 per cent outside the large towns.

Key selections

  • In April, 35 per cent fewer sales of old dwellings in blocks of flats and terraced houses were made through real estate agents than one year earlier.
  • Prices of dwellings in blocks of flats fell in the whole country by 7.0 per cent and prices of dwellings in terraced houses by 4.2 per cent compared to one year ago.
  • In April, prices of old dwellings in housing companies fell in Greater Helsinki by 7.2 per cent from the previous year.
  • Prices fell less in Oulu than in other large towns, by 0.7 per cent. Prices fell most in Espoo, by over eight per cent. Prices fell by over seven per cent in Helsinki and Tampere.
