According to Statistics Finland’s preliminary data, prices of old dwellings in housing companies decreased in July in the whole country by 8.0 per cent from the previous year and by 1.4 per cent from the previous month. Of large towns, prices fell most in Espoo and Helsinki, where prices went down by around 11 per cent.

  • Prices of old dwellings in housing companies decreased by 8.8 per cent in the six largest towns compared to the previous year. Prices went down by 6.2 per cent outside large towns.
  • In July, the prices of old dwellings in housing companies went down by 10.3 per cent from the previous year in Greater Helsinki.
  • Prices of dwellings in blocks of flats decreased in the whole country by 8.6 per cent and prices of dwellings in terraced houses by 6.3 per cent compared to one year ago.
  • In July, 29 per cent fewer sales of old dwellings in blocks of flats and terraced houses were made through real estate agents than one year earlier.
  • Compared with the previous year, the fall in prices of dwellings was lowest in Turku and Tampere. After June, prices made an upturn in Turku and Oulu.
