Turnover in trade grew 6.0 per cent in January 2023
According to Statistics Finland's preliminary data, the working day adjusted turnover in total trade grew by 6.0 per cent in January 2023 compared with January 2022. The volume of total trade sales, from which the impact of price changes has been eliminated, decreased by 3.8 per cent over the same period.

Working day adjusted turnover of retail trade grew in January by 4.6 per cent
The working day adjusted turnover of retail trade increased by 4.6 per cent in January from January 2022. The volume of retail trade sales decreased by 4.0 per cent over the same period. In daily consumer goods trade, the working day adjusted turnover increased by 5.0 per cent in January. The sales volume, however, decreased by 6.1 per cent from the corresponding period of the previous year.
Seasonally adjusted turnover increased compared to previous month
Seasonally adjusted turnover in total trade increased by 1.1 per cent in January compared to December. Seasonally adjusted sales volume decreased by 0.6 per cent over the same period. In December, seasonally adjusted turnover decreased by 1.5 per cent and sales volume by 1.1 per cent compared to the month before.
