Statistics on offences and coercive measures 2022

Number of persons aged under 15 suspected of robbery grew by nearly 140 per cent

According to Statistics Finland's data, there were 2,200 suspects in robberies solved in 2022, which is 16.9 per cent more than in the year before. Slightly under 2,000 of the suspects were men. The number of suspects of solved assaults was 24,700, which is 1.1 per cent more than in the year before.

Key selections

  • There were 269 persons aged under 15 suspected of robberies and 252 of them were boys.
  • The victim of robberies committed by persons aged under 15 was most often a boy aged between 12 and 14.
