Database tables and the release for 2022 of the statistics on waste statistics were corrected. The amount of mineral waste decreased by 2.3 million tons.
Read more about the correctionAccording to Statistics Finland, a total of 111 million tonnes of waste was generated in 2022. This is 11.2 per cent less than one year earlier. The volume of waste generated decreased mainly as a result of a decline in waste from mining and quarrying and secondary production. The amount of waste from construction decreased by around 18 per cent.
