According to Statistics Finland’s preliminary data, the prices of old dwellings in housing companies decreased in the whole country by 1.5 per cent year-on-year and by 0.4 per cent from the previous quarter in October to December 2024. Among large towns, prices rose only in Oulu, by 2.1 per cent. Prices declined most in Vantaa (-3.9%) and in Tampere (-3.6%).

Among large towns, prices rose only in Oulu, by 2.1 per cent. Prices declined most in Vantaa (-3.9%) and in Tampere (-3.6%).
Of the regional centres, prices of old dwellings in housing companies went up year-on-year most in Kokkola (6.0%), in Mikkeli (5.3%) and in Vaasa (4.0%). Prices declined most in Kotka (-7.2%) and in Lappeenranta (-6.0%).
In the last quarter of 2024, prices of old dwellings in terraced houses decreased in the whole country by 1.9 per cent from a year ago. The fall in prices was more moderate in Greater Helsinki than elsewhere in the country.
In old blocks of flats prices decreased most for small dwellings in the whole country. Prices of one-room flats decreased by 2.7 per cent and those of two-room flats by 1.8 per cent. Prices of family dwellings decreased by 0.6 per cent.
Prices of old dwellings in blocks of flats decreased less in Greater Helsinki than elsewhere in the country compared with one year back. Prices of family dwellings in Greater Helsinki rose by 0.5 per cent. Prices of one-room flats fell by 4.6 per cent and those of two-room flats by 2.1 per cent.
Outside Greater Helsinki prices of one-room flats decreased by 0.4 per cent, those of two-room flats by 1.4 per cent and prices of family dwellings by 2.2 per cent.
In the last quarter of 2024, prices of new dwellings in housing companies decreased by 1.0 per cent in the whole country compared with the corresponding period of the previous year. In all, 13 per cent more sales were made than one year earlier.
Prices of new dwellings decreased by 1.0 per cent from one year ago in Greater Helsinki as well as in the rest of the country. Prices of new dwellings in terraced houses decreased in the whole country by 3.4 per cent and those of dwellings in blocks of flats by 0.3 per cent.
