Prices of old dwellings in housing companies continued to fall in April to June 2025
Correction
According to Statistics Finland’s preliminary data, the prices of old dwellings in housing companies decreased by 1.3 per cent year-on-year in the whole country in April to June 2025. Compared with the previous quarter, prices increased by 1.3 per cent. Among large towns, prices rose only in Oulu, by 0.1 per cent. Prices declined most in Turku (-2.9%) and in Tampere (-2.1%).

Prices of old dwellings in housing companies decreased across the country
In April to June 2025 prices of old dwellings in housing companies decreased by 1.2 per cent in large towns and by 1.4 per cent in the rest of the country. Among large towns, prices rose only in Oulu, by 0.1 per cent. Prices declined most in Turku (-2.9%) and in Tampere (-2.1%).
Of the regional centres, prices of old dwellings in housing companies went up year-on-year most in Kajaani (14.8%), in Kokkola (14.3%) and in Pori (6.2%). Prices declined most in Kotka (-8.7%) and in Seinäjoki (-6.3%).
Prices of old dwellings in blocks fell in the whole country
In the second quarter of 2025, prices of old dwellings in terraced houses decreased in the whole country by 1.0 per cent from a year ago. In old blocks of flats prices decreased most for small dwellings in the whole country. Prices of one-room flats decreased by 2.6 per cent and those of two-room flats by 1.0 per cent. Prices of family dwellings decreased by 1.3 per cent.
Prices of old dwellings in blocks of flats decreased less in Greater Helsinki than elsewhere in the country compared with one year back. Prices of one-room flats in Greater Helsinki decreased by 4.4 per cent, those of two-room flats by 1.2 per cent and prices of family dwellings by 0.4 per cent.
Outside Greater Helsinki prices of one-room flats decreased by 0.7 per cent, those of two-room flats by 0.9 per cent and prices of family dwellings by 2.6 per cent.
Prices of new dwellings in housing companies fell
In the second quarter of 2025, prices of new dwellings in housing companies decreased by 1.8 per cent in the whole country compared with the corresponding period of the previous year. In all, 11 per cent fewer sales were made than one year earlier.
Prices of new dwellings decreased by 5.8 per cent from one year ago in Greater Helsinki. In the rest of the country prices increased by 1.4 per cent. Prices of new dwellings in terraced houses decreased in the whole country by 12.5 per cent, and those of dwellings in blocks of flats increased by 1.1 per cent.
