Housing companies' maintenance costs rose by 4.5 per cent in 2025

According to Statistics Finland, the maintenance costs of housing companies averaged EUR 5.55 per square metre per month in 2025. Maintenance costs went up by 4.5 per cent from the previous year. In blocks of flats, the average maintenance costs were EUR 6.17 and in terraced houses EUR 4.53 per square metre per month. Maintenance charges rose by 8.1 per cent in total from 2024.

  • In 2025, the maintenance costs of housing companies rose in total by 1.3 per cent in blocks of flats and by 6.8 per cent in terraced houses compared to the previous year.
  • Of the maintenance costs in blocks of flats, water and waste water costs increased most, and costs for maintenance of outdoor areas decreased most.
  • Repair costs went up by 3.8 per cent in total. Maintenance costs excluding repair costs rose by 4.7 per cent.
  • Maintenance charges rose by 5.7 per cent in blocks of flats and by 9.9 per cent in terraced houses.
