Energy consumption in domestic transport decreased by 3 per cent in 2025

According to Statistics Finland's preliminary data, energy consumption in road transport decreased by three per cent in 2025. The consumption of diesel fuel decreased by five per cent and that of motor gasoline by one per cent from one year ago. The share of liquid biofuels in energy sources of road transport was 16 per cent, which was four percentage points more than one year earlier. The consumption of electricity in road transport rose by 43 per cent.
