Turnover in trade grew by 7.6 per cent in May 2026

Turnover increased most in wholesale among the main industries of trade

The working day adjusted turnover of motor vehicle trade in May 2026 remained at the same level as in May of the previous year. Sales volume fell by 0.5 per cent from one year ago.

Working day adjusted turnover in the trade industry with the biggest turnover, wholesale trade, increased in May by 11.7 per cent and sales volume by 6.9 per cent year-on-year. In other specialized wholesale, working day adjusted turnover grew by 24.8 per cent and sales volume by 11.3 per cent from one year ago.

In retail trade, working day adjusted turnover went up by 6.5 per cent in May and sales volume by 6.0 per cent year-on-year. In retail sale of automotive fuel, working day adjusted turnover grew by 27.3 per cent and sales volume by 18.1 per cent from one year ago.

Seasonally adjusted turnover increased compared to April

Seasonally adjusted turnover in total trade grew by 0.6 per cent in May compared to April. Seasonally adjusted sales volume grew by 0.2 per cent. In April, seasonally adjusted turnover grew by 0.5 per cent and sales volume fell by 0.2 per cent compared to the month before.
