What does an educational institution refer to?
An educational institution refers to an administrative unit, not an individual school building or establishment. All educational institutions have only one address (location).
You can order address data on educational institutions and public unit data describing other educational institutions from the register of educational institutions.
The following can be ordered from Statistics Finland's register of educational institutions
The register does not contain names, telephone numbers or email addresses of educational institution personnel. Hospital schools, educational institutions operating abroad, military vocational institutions as well as military academies have been removed from the register of educational institutions.
The coordinates of comprehensive schools and general upper secondary schools are available free of charge in Statistics Finland's Educational institutions geographic data.
The data in the register of educational institutions are based on data collections from providers of education and educational institutions, as well as on the data in the KOSKI and VIRTA databases.

You can order data by means of different extraction criteria, such as type of educational institution, number of pupils/students, location of educational institutions or language of instruction.
You can place an order either as a one-off or continuous assignment. If the assignment is continuous, we will deliver the ordered data annually whenever new statistical data are completed.
The price of the order comprises of the basic charge and the amount of educational institutions as follows:
If the preparations for the assignment take more than one hour, EUR 115 per hour is charged for the additional work.
All prices are exclusive of VAT (25,5%).
