You can order public unit data on enterprises and their establishments from the Business Register. Enterprises' address and industry data and data on the size category of personnel and turnover are examples of data available in the register.
Statistics Finland's Business Register contains versatile data on enterprises and corporations and their establishments. The register contains data on all organisations with a Business ID operating in Finland whose data are available from the Tax Administration.
Basic data on the organisations are updated to the register monthly according to the latest status. Basic data include the organisation's name, address and industry.
Some of the data in the register describe annual accrual. Such annual data include the size category of turnover and number of personnel. Annual data are from 2023 and 2024.
Data for the Business Register are obtained from administrative sources, the most important of which is the Tax Administration. The official financial statements data of the Finnish Patent and Registration Office are also utilised in the production of data.
Statistics Finland collects some of the data directly from enterprises and corporations with inquiries examining, for example, industry, number of personnel and data related to the establishment structure. Inquiries are sent annually to the majority of multi-establishment enterprises and, based on rotation, to single-establishment enterprises with more than 20 employees. The same units are not included every year. New enterprises, approximately the 2,500 largest ones, are inquired in January of the year following the year in which they started their operation.
In addition to this, Statistics Finland uses several other sources to gain information about changes in industry, location addresses and telephone numbers, for example.

You can place an order either as a one-off or continuous assignment. If the assignment is continuous, we will deliver the ordered data as agreed whenever new statistical data are completed. The data you ordered can be updated regularly, but at most once a month.
If you maintain your own registers, we can update and supplement them with data on industry and size category of personnel and turnover, for example.
